Fuel distributors representative, Fadi Abou Shakra, assured in a phone call with the “National News Agency” that “starting tomorrow, fuel will be distributed to all petrol stations,” noting that the fuel distributors will hold a meeting on Monday to discuss solutions to the fuel crisis, expressing his optimism that “the solution is near,” and hoping that “this solution will not be temporary.”
“The state must decide on lifting or rationalizing subsidies,” Abou Shakra confirmed, adding that “they, as petrol station owners and distributors, can no longer bear this crisis.”
Meanwhile, Abou Shakra urged citizens to “remain calm and avoid getting furious at petrol stations, since the actual problem lies in fuel distribution shortage,” noting that they, as distributors and as stations, “are with the interest of the citizen,” and hoping that “the gasoline crisis will be resolved once and for all.” He also asserted that “they will implement any decision taken by the government,” adding that their “first and last concern is that the goods are available in order to meet the market’s need.”
