Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi received today, Sunday, the Minister of Interior of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Mazen Abdullah Al-Faraya, and his accompanying delegation, in the presence of the Minister of Interior.
The meeting discussed, according to a statement by his office, bilateral relations, and ways to enhance security cooperation in a number of fields, including combating terrorism and extremism, combating drugs, facilitating the entry of citizens between the two brotherly countries, as well as exchanging security and administrative expertise in many issues of common concern.
The Speaker of the House of Representatives stressed the importance of enhancing security coordination and cooperation between the two countries in the field of combating drugs, which pose a threat to societies.
During the meeting, Al-Halbousi praised the level of cooperation between the two countries, appreciating the positions of His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al-Hussein towards Iraq and the region.
For his part, the Jordanian Minister of Interior conveyed the greetings of the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Majesty King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, to the Speaker of Parliament, affirming the King’s support for Iraq in all fields and in a way that contributes to achieving its development and stability. He also praised the efforts of the Iraqi security forces in their war against ISIS, indicating in this war, Iraq defended the region and the world./ End
