Prime Minister, Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani, inaugurated today, Wednesday, high-voltage conversion stations for electric energy (400 KV), at Al-Quds gas station, located in Al-Rashidiya region, northeast of Baghdad, and Al-Rashid gas station, in the southwest of the capital, in order to resolving bottlenecks in the electric power system in many areas of Baghdad.
During his visit to Al-Quds station, the Prime Minister chaired a meeting that included representatives of Siemens and General Electric companies, and the advanced staff in the Ministry of Electricity, during which a review of the steps related to maintaining and raising the efficiency of electric power stations, and ensuring the progress of procedures in implementing the contracts concluded recently. He also followed up the installation of cooling systems for the generation stations, which will be launched soon, and which would increase the production of electric power.
Al-Sudani stressed that the government has placed the electricity problem among the priorities, and that dealing with this chronic problem requires high work and preparation, because the citizen is waiting for solutions that end the ongoing electricity crisis, and indicated that the government is proceeding with its plans to invest associated gas and natural gas in the field of energy, in order to reduce dependence on imported gas, in addition to preventing the harmful effects of flaring associated gas.
