Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Wednesday led a security and administrative meeting attended by Interior Minister Ahmad Hajjar. During the meeting, Hajjar provided an update on the progress of the second phase of municipal and mukhtar elections in the North and Akkar governorates.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, President Aoun also met with Minister of Culture Ghassan Salameh to discuss national and cultural issues. The meeting included a review of the ministry’s current action plan.
Later in the day, President Aoun held discussions with MP William Tawk about the electoral process in North Lebanon, with a particular focus on the Bsharri district. Tawk commended the state’s ongoing reform efforts and highlighted recent legislation passed by Parliament aimed at rebuilding trust in Lebanon’s banking and financial system.
