ARAB MEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP: LEBANON REAPS VICTORY OVER JORDAN, QUALIFIES FOR SEMI-FINALS

The Lebanese Men’s Basketball team successfully made its way to the semi-finals of the 24th Arab Championship, after toppling the Jordanian team (64-52) in the second playoff round in the massive match that took place this afternoon at Al Nasr Club Stadium in Dubai (United Arab Emirates).

It is the third consecutive victory for the Lebanese team without a loss in the Arab Championship, after it won in the first round over Somalia (115-77) and Algeria (83-66) and led the second group.

Lebanese cheerleaders and supporters filled the stands to encourage their country’s team throughout the match against its Jordanian counterpart.

The Lebanese national team will seek to win the Arab Championship for the first time in its history, after occupying the runner-up position twice, most recently against the Egyptian team in September 2010, with a difference of 3 points in the Sheikh Pierre Gemayel Hall of the Camille Chamoun Sports City in Beirut.
