Minister of Foreign Affairs, Gebran Bassil, met the UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Pernille Kardel, with whom he discussed general affairs.
Kardel pointed out that this was her first meeting with Minister Bassil “and discussions were fruitful, positive and constructive.”
“The meeting touched on the mutual relations,” she said, adding that she “looks forward to working with Minister Bassil and other Lebanese officials to fortify Lebanon’s march towards peace, security and social and economic growth.”
Bassil later met with the Australian Ambassador to Lebanon, Glenn Miles, and tackled with him the situation in Lebanon and the region.
“We discussed the upcoming parliamentary elections and the Diaspora Energy conference which will be held in Australia next year, and which is of major importance in terms of bilateral relations and investment and trade prospects between the two countries,” the ambassador said.
