Damascus: Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese was escorted away from a memorial service for the victims of the Bondi bombing in Sydney on Sunday evening amid a heavy security presence, after being met with boos and angry shouts from some attendees, as one person yelled that he was "weak and dangerous."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Albanese and his wife, Jody Haydon, were taken to a secure location by his Australian Federal Police protection team. At the same time, New South Wales police guarded the perimeter fence to keep members of the public at a distance.

The Prime Minister arrived at Bondi Beach accompanied by Home Affairs Minister Tony Burke and Deputy Prime Minister Richard Marles, where the three were repeatedly booed upon arrival and during the emotional memorial service.

This was Albanese's first visit to Bondi Beach since his brief visit on Monday morning, following the tragedy that shocked Australia.
