Baghdad Operations Command forces carried out a preemptive search, inspection and armed reconnaissance operation this morning, Monday, coinciding with the approach of the Arbaeen visit, north of Baghdad. The command stated in a statement that within the plans drawn up to enhance security and stability in the northern vicinity of the capital, units of Commandos Brigade carried out preemptive search, inspection and armed reconnaissance operations in the villages, countryside and orchards of Tarmiyah district, reaching the border areas separating Salah al-Din Governorate, north of the capital. It explained that these operations come in conjunction with the approach of the Arbaeen visit with the aim of tightening the noose on terrorist elements, drying up their sources and preventing anyone who dares to tamper with the security of the citizen and disturb the serenity of the visit.
