Jezzine: In his victory celebration speech in Jezzine, Free Patriotic Movement leader MP Gebran Bassil saluted the people of the south, “who today expressed their Lebanese identity, their attachment to their land, and their steadfastness,” by participating in the municipal and mayoral elections and demonstrating that they are free and undeterred by any terrorism.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Bassil saluted the Free Patriotic Movement cadre and supporters, “who have demonstrated once again that they are part of this southern fabric and aim to develop it in all its regions.”
He also paid respect to the liberal southern people, saying: “There is no need for the wind of sovereignty to blow over Jezzine. No one can teach the people of Jezzine sovereignty; they are the ones who create it,” adding, “The strength you have shown today shows that the people of Jezzine are adhering to their principles and their rules, and Jezzine cannot be separated from its surroundings.”
Bassil stressed that the victory of the people of Jezzine is a victory for their coexistence, a victory for the unity and non-division of Lebanon.
“Our promise is to complete all projects undertaken by the municipality, from the landfill to the streets…We will fulfill them so that Jezzine will become the tourism capital of the south, because we are the movement of hope, joy, life, and good living,” pledged Bassil.
