BERRI ADJOURNS PARLIAMENTARY SESSION TILL TOMORROW TO DISCUSS PRESIDENT AOUN’S LETTER, MEETS HARIRI

NNA – The House of Parliament on Friday convened in session at 2:00 pm at the UNESCO Palace, under the chairmanship of House Speaker, Nabih Berri, to read out the letter of the President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, regarding the government formation.

Prime Minister-designate, Saad Hariri,  attended the session. MP Ibrahim Al-Mousawi, Qaysar Al-Maalouf and Mustafa Al-Husseini, were absent from today’s session.

Opening up today’s session, Speaker Berri called for a minute of silence for the soul of former MP Habib Hakim.

Berri then asked Session’s Director General, Riad Ghannam, to recite the text of the letter.

Afterwards, Berri adjourned the session till tomorrow [Saturday] at 2 pm, to discuss President Aoun’s letter.

 

It is to note that Speaker Berri met with Hariri ahead of the parliamentary session.
