BERRI CONDEMNS SWEDISH AUTHORITIES’ PERMISSION TO BURN A COPY OF THE HOLY QUR’AN”: AN INFRINGEMENT UPON ALL HEAVENLY MESSAGES AND BOOKS

House Speaker Nabih Berri condemned in an issued statement today, “the Swedish authorities’ permission granted to far-right Danish politician Rasmus Paludan to burn a copy of the Holy Qur’an in front of the Turkish embassy in the Swedish capital, Stockholm.”

He considered that the reoccurrence of such desecration of sanctities, similar to yesterday’s regretful incident, not only denotes an infringement on the feelings and sanctities of more than one and a half billion Muslims across the world but also a breach of all the heavenly messages and books.

“Condoning such shameful acts and remaining silent about them under the pretext of freedom of expression establishes the generalization of hateful speech and a return to the abhorrent ignorance at a time when the world and humanity are in dire need of convergence, dialogue, and imitation of the rules of the Holy Qur’an itself in terms of liberty, justice and equality.”
