Beirut: House Speaker Nabih Berri on Wednesday engaged in discussions with former Prime Minister Hassan Diab at the second presidency headquarters in Ain El-Tineh. Their meeting focused on general developments along with political and field updates.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Speaker Berri also had a meeting with Public Prosecutor Judge Jamal Al-Hajjar. The details of this meeting were not disclosed.

In another diplomatic gesture, Berri sent a cable of condolences to the Vatican Secretary of State, Cardinal Pietro Parolin, mourning the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis.
