Beirut: Prime Minister, Nawaf Salam, on Wednesday chaired the daily ministerial meeting at the Grand Serail to review displacement needs, shelter and relief efforts, as well as the broader security situation amid ongoing Israeli attacks.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Information Minister Paul Morcos mentioned that the discussions were heavily centered on the issues of displacement and its repercussions, alongside planning security measures for the upcoming holiday period to prevent any internal disturbances.
Prime Minister Salam emphasized the necessity of ministerial field visits to shelters, especially with the approach of Eid al-Fitr, to ensure that aid is delivered efficiently and to assess the needs directly on the ground.
Morcos further reported that the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of verifying information before it is published, due to its significant psychological, social, and political impact during wartime.
Additionally, the ministers took note of the implementation of Cabinet decisions regarding public media. Morcos clarified that the transfer of Syrian detainees is meant to continue their sentences in Syria, while those who have completed their terms are being deported.
