Ramallah – Ma’an – The Palestinian Prisoner’s Club said that the limited release operations that took place of a group of administrative detainees during the last period from the Israeli occupation prisons, are matched by continuous daily arrest campaigns, in addition to the occupation’s intelligence service continuing to issue more administrative detention orders under the pretext of the presence of… (Secret file).

The club added in a statement on Thursday that the number of prisoners and detainees in the occupation prisons is constantly increasing, and that the limited releases that took place did not constitute any change in the number of prisoners, including the number of administrative detainees, as the issue of administrative detainees constituted the most prominent issue that left significant changes. It is significant and historic in terms of the issue of prisoners, as the occupation targeted the vast majority of detainees from the West Bank through this policy.

The Prisoner Club explained that al
though the escalation in the number of administrative detainees increased in intensity after the seventh of October , the escalation was not actually linked to this date. It began noticeably since April 2022 , after the number of administrative detainees remained… It ranges between 400-500 detainees, with the exception of the period following the ‘popular uprising’ in 2015, when their number at that time reached more than 700. The number of administrative detainees in April 2022 reached 600 detainees, and has continued to rise until today, reaching To the historically highest numbers, based on the data available to the relevant institutions.

The number of administrative detainees as of the beginning of this April is more than (3,660) administrative detainees, including (22) women and more than (40) children.

He pointed out that the Israeli occupation forces administratively arrested thousands of Palestinian citizens after October 7 , and targeted all groups, including: university students, journalists, wo
men, former members of the Legislative Council, human rights activists, workers, lawyers, mothers, and detainees. Former workers, merchants, and children, knowing that the occupation regime used administrative detention as a tool for repression, control, intimidation, and undermining any escalating state of struggle, and it emerged specifically in the years of uprisings and popular uprisings.

The Prisoner’s Club considered the issue of administrative detention to be the most serious issue pursued by the occupation authorities against our people, in addition to a long list of crimes, policies, grave violations and torture operations that have escalated in light of aggression and genocide.

The Prisoner’s Club stressed that the date after October 7 , and the start of the war of extermination in Gaza, was not the beginning of the occupation’s aggression against prisoners and the escalation in arrest and administrative detention campaigns, but rather all of these crimes and violations constituted an extension of
systematic and continuous crimes carried out by the occupation over the course of decades. For a long time, the main and current change is only in the intensity of these crimes and the escalation of retaliatory policies and measures against prisoners, detainees and their families.

Amman: The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission (TRC) has implemented comprehensive measures to address and mitigate interference with the Global Positioning System (GPS) throughout the kingdom.

This move is a response to disruptions caused by unauthorized transmission devices that emulate GPS signals, thereby overshadowing the legitimate signals emitted from the GPS satellites with stronger, misleading signals.

These disruptive devices generate either random or structured signals that can alter the accuracy of GPS receivers. Such disturbances compromise the receivers’ ability to correctly determine geographic locations and navigate routes, resulting in significant deviations from true positions and paths.

Engineer Nidal Samara, Director of the Frequency Spectrum Department at TRC, detailed the technicalities in a statement to the Jordanian News Agency (Petra). According to Samara, the affected receivers are primarily those within the operational range of the jamming devices, influenced by specific tra
nsmission powers and frequency settings.

The TRC has successfully identified the sources of these disruptions by deploying sophisticated radio monitoring technologies. By pinpointing the exact locations of the rogue stations, the Commission is taking steps to ensure compliance with both international and local regulations governing the use of radio frequencies and the operational standards for transmission stations.

These regulations are designed to uphold the integrity of radio communications systems and various other radio-based applications, setting clear guidelines on usage rights, geographical coverage, and the technical specifications of transmitters and broadcasting stations.

Amman: Persistent warm and dry weather conditions are expected across most regions until Sunday, with temperatures forecast to exceed seasonal averages by approximately 10 to 12 degrees Celsius.

According to the latest report from the Jordan Meteorological Department, Thursday temperatures are set to rise significantly, resulting in relatively hot conditions over high mountainous areas and warmer temperatures elsewhere. Dusty conditions may prevail intermittently throughout the day, accompanied by the appearance of clouds at higher altitudes. Moderate-speed dry southeasterly winds are forecast, occasionally becoming active.

with moderate northerly winds, occasionally becoming active and causing dust disturbances, especially in desert regions.

The weather outlook for Saturday and Sunday remains consistent, with warm conditions persisting over mountainous areas and relatively hot temperatures expected elsewhere.

In terms of temperatures, highs and lows today are expected to range between 36 – 21 degrees Celsius in East Amman, 34 – 19 in West Amman, 31 – 20 in the northern highlands, and 32 – 18 in the Sharah Highlands.
