CHINA REPORTS 126 NEW COVID CASES FOR JUNE 21 VS 142 DAY EARLIER

China reported 126 new coronavirus cases for June 21, of which 31 were symptomatic and 95 were asymptomatic, the National Health Commission said on Wednesday.

That compared with 142 new cases a day earlier – 37 symptomatic and 105 asymptomatic infections, which China counts separately.

There were no new deaths, keeping the nation’s fatalities at 5,226.

As of June 21, mainland China had confirmed 225,349 cases with symptoms.

China’s capital Beijing reported four new local symptomatic cases, compared with three a day earlier. The local government reported two new local asymptomatic case, the same as the previous day.

Shanghai reported four new local symptomatic cases, compared with six a day earlier, and four new local asymptomatic cases versus three the previous day, local government data showed.
