Beirut: China expressed "deep concern" today over the escalation between Iran and Israel, calling on both sides to uphold the ceasefire agreement and avoid a return to hostilities. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said that renewed fighting would serve no party's interests and stressed the importance of adhering to the ceasefire.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Lin emphasized at a press conference that "resuming hostilities is not in the interest of any side," and expressed hope that all parties concerned would honor their commitment to maintaining the ceasefire.
