Damascus Commits to Assisting Washington in Locating Missing Americans

Damascus: The Syrian authorities have announced their commitment to assisting the United States in locating missing Americans in Syria.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, US envoy to Damascus, Thomas Barrack, revealed this development during an interview with Sky News Arabia.

“This is an important step forward. The new Syrian government has agreed to cooperate with the United States to locate American citizens or their remains to repatriate them,” Barrack stated in posts on the X platform. He emphasized the significance of this cooperation in advancing efforts to find missing Americans.

Barrack further noted that President Donald Trump has underscored the importance of returning American citizens home or honoring their remains with dignity as a top priority globally. The cooperation from the Syrian government is seen as a crucial part of fulfilling this commitment, particularly concerning several missing persons, including Austin Tice, Majed Kamalmaz, and Kayla Mueller.
