Beirut: Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, on Thursday met with Minister of Defense, Michel Menassa, at Dar Al-Fatwa to discuss the latest developments in Lebanon, with a particular focus on the ongoing Israeli aggression targeting the South and Beirut’s southern suburbs.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the discussions between Mufti Derian and Minister Menassa centered on the impact of the Israeli actions and explored potential responses to safeguard national security. The meeting highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing these critical issues.
In a separate engagement, Mufti Derian received Dr. Faisal Sinno, President of the Makassed Islamic Charitable Association in Beirut. Dr. Sinno extended Eid al-Fitr greetings and discussed various public affairs with the Mufti, emphasizing the role of charitable organizations in supporting community welfare.
Mufti Derian also welcomed Fawzi Kabbara, Lebanon’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia, who provided an update on the status of the Lebanese community in the Kingdom. The meeting underscored the importance of maintaining strong diplomatic ties and ensuring the well-being of Lebanese expatriates.
