NNA – Caretaker Prime Minister, Hassan Diab, chaired a meeting devoted to detailing the drug plan, in the presence of Minister of Health, Hamad Hassan, PM Advisors, Petra Khoury and Khodor Taleb, President of the Republic’s Advisor, Walid Khoury, president of the Lebanese Pharmaceutical Importers Association(LPIA), Karim Gebara, president of the Lebanese order of Pharmacists, Ghassan Al-Amine, president of the Syndicate of Pharmaceutical Industries in Lebanon (SPIL), Carole Abi Karam, Berta Abi Zeid, Marie-Therese Sawaya, Rawad Jibril, Mahmoud Zalzali, Colette Reaidy, and Nabil Gharib.
After the meeting, the president of the Lebanese order of Pharmacists said: “We deliberated with H.E. Prime Minister Diab on the suffering of the pharmaceutical sector, including pharmacies, importers, and drug companies. We also discussed the subsidy rationing plan, with which we urge compliance. PM Diab emphasized that its application was linked to the decision of adopting the ration card as a law in the parliament. Pending decision issuance, we considered how to address the basic gaps threatening our sector so that it can survive and continue to provide medicines security for the citizen.”– PM Press office
