Digital Rights Workshop and Humanitarian Event for Cancer Patients Highlight Thursday Activities in Lebanon

Beirut: A series of notable events unfolded in Lebanon on Thursday, beginning with a training workshop on ‘Digital Rights’ organized by the National Audiovisual Council. This workshop, held at the Ministry of Information on the 7th floor, commenced at 10:00 am and was scheduled to run until 1:00 pm.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Rafik Hariri University Hospital, in collaboration with Dar Al-Aytam Al-Islamiya, Lebanese International University (LIU), the Zakat Fund, and the Dutch International Organization for Human Rights and Global Peace, hosted a humanitarian event for cancer patients. The event, held in the hospital’s reception hall, was organized in celebration of Eid al-Adha and took place from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.

The Youth and Sports Parliamentary Committee, chaired by MP Simon Abi Ramia, conducted a session at 10:30 am. This meeting took place in Committee Room No. 215 within the Parliament Office Building.

Later in the day, at 6:30 pm, the prestigious ‘Jean Salameh Award’ for 2024 was presented to George Meghames, a distinguished writer and media figure. The ceremony, recognizing Meghames for his intellectual contributions, was held at Notre Dame University in Zouk Mosbeh.
