Egypt-India trade committee closes in Cairo

Egypt is keen on deepening cooperation with India with more diversified trade flows.

Minister of Trade and Industry Nevine Gamea has witnessed the signing the minutes of the 5th Egyptian-Indian Joint Trade Committee, held in Cairo on July 25-26 under the co-chairmanship of Yahya Al-Wathiq Billah, head of the Egyptian Commercial Service, and Dr. Srikar K. Reddy, joint secretary of the Indian Ministry of Trade and Industry.

 

The meetings were attended by Indian Ambassador to Cairo Ajit Gupte, in addition to representatives of Egypt’s ministries of transport, IT, electricity and international cooperation, as well as a large number of local authorities.

 

“The ministry is keen on deepening cooperation with India in a range of fields with more diversified trade flows,” Gamea said, stressing the importance of bolstering the role of the joint business council and taking advantage of the investment opportunities available in both markets.
