Beirut: Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri received Prime Minister Nawaf Salam at his residence in Ain El-Tineh. The meeting focused on the situation in Lebanon, political and field developments, and Israel's ongoing attacks, as well as the issue of refugees.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Berri also met with Egyptian Ambassador to Lebanon, Alaa Moussa, who briefed him on Egypt's efforts with international partners to stop the attacks. Moussa expressed condolences for the victims of Israeli strikes and emphasized that Egypt is pushing for a ceasefire in Lebanon, following President Trump's decision to pause military operations for two weeks.
Moussa highlighted that the ceasefire should include Lebanon and that continued attacks threaten regional security. He confirmed that efforts are ongoing with Egypt's partners to reach a ceasefire as quickly as possible, noting the importance of building on the first steps taken, including guarantees to prevent a return to violence.
