Cairo: Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Badr Abdelatty held a phone call today with Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam to discuss developments in Lebanon.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the official spokesperson for the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Tamim Khalaf, stated that Abdelatty affirmed Egypt's full solidarity with Lebanon in facing the current sensitive challenges. He reiterated Egypt's position on the necessity for a complete Israeli withdrawal from all Lebanese territories, emphasizing that any violation of Lebanon's sovereignty and territorial integrity is a breach of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 1701.

Abdelatty also stressed the importance of supporting Lebanese state institutions, particularly the Lebanese Army, to enable it to carry out its responsibilities in extending state authority across all Lebanese territory. He highlighted the need for weapons to be exclusively in the hands of the state as a crucial element for maintaining Lebanon's security and stability.
