Electricity Outage in South Lebanon After Strike Damages High-Voltage Lines

Beirut: Electricite du Liban announced in a statement that the shelling which targeted the Aarayd Dibbin area caused severe damage to 66 kV high-voltage transmission lines, leading to a power outage in the regions of Marjayoun, Hasbaya, Shebaa, and Arkoub, in addition to disrupting electricity supply to water pumping stations and hospitals.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the institution added that, due to the current security situation, its technical teams are unable to access the damaged site to carry out inspection and repairs, and will resume work once conditions improve and safe access is ensured in order to restore power as quickly as possible.

It also confirmed that it will keep citizens informed of updates regarding repairs and the return of electricity.
