Emir of Qatar Condemns ‘Continued Violation’ of Gaza Ceasefire

Doha: The ruler of Qatar, a key mediator for the ongoing Gaza truce, accused Israel of violating the 11-day-old ceasefire on Tuesday after a series of deadly strikes on Hamas positions.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani expressed strong condemnation of Israeli actions during his annual address to the Shoura Council legislative body. He emphasized his disapproval of Israel’s practices in Palestine, specifically highlighting the transformation of the Gaza Strip into an area he described as unfit for human life. The Emir underscored his concerns over the continued violation of the ceasefire.

In his address, Sheikh Tamim reaffirmed Qatar’s commitment to supporting the Palestinian cause and called for international accountability for the reported violations. The Emir’s statements come amidst ongoing tensions in the region, where efforts to maintain peace have been challenged by recent hostilities.

Qatar has played a significant role as a mediator in the conflict, working alongside international partners to broker peace and facilitate dialogue between the parties involved.
