ENERGY MINISTER, MALAYSIAN AMBASSADOR DISCUSS WAYS OF MUTUAL COOPERATION

Energy and Water Minister, Walid Fayyad, conferred today with Malaysian Ambassador to Lebanon, Azri Mat Yacob, on ways of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the field of oil and gas exploration in Lebanese offshore waters through the Malaysian National Company, Petronas, and the possibility of participating in the second licensing cycle whose deadline for receiving bids ends on June 15, 2022.

 

Talks also touched on the possibility of cooperating in the field of liquid gas supply to Lebanon, and the construction of electricity power plants and water projects.

 

In this context, the Malaysian diplomat expressed his country’s readiness to train Lebanese cadres in the fields of energy, oil and water.

 

The encounter was also a chance to review various issues of common interest, whereby both sides agreed to further build on the distinguished relationship between Lebanon and Malaysia.
