Finance Minister Condemns Israeli Attacks on Southern Lebanon and Nabatieh

Beirut: Finance Minister Yassine Jaber condemned Israel's continued attacks on southern Lebanon and Nabatieh, which he said are killing innocent civilians on a daily basis and causing further suffering.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Jaber stated that the latest attacks also struck the Ministry of Finance building in Nabatieh early Sunday, emphasizing that targeting facilities and institutions that provide services to citizens constitutes an assault on the state, its institutions, and citizens' right to access public services.

He reassured the public that all employees of the Regional Finance Department in Nabatieh were safe. "Thankfully, the attack took place early Sunday, when employees were not present in the building," Jaber said, praising their sense of responsibility and swift response. He noted that employees immediately moved files and documents to a safer location, carefully securing them to protect their integrity and ensure the continuity of work.

Jaber also assured citizens and taxpayers that their files remain secure and that their transactions will continue without interruption. He added: "Thanks to the efforts and commitment of the staff, taxpayers served by the Regional Finance Department in Nabatieh will be able to submit their transactions temporarily at the Regional Finance Department in South Lebanon in Sidon, starting Monday morning, until work resumes at the Nabatieh office."
