Beirut: The Ministry of Finance has issued a statement to clarify inaccuracies in reported figures concerning aid funds allocated to those affected by Israeli attacks. The ministry addressed claims that were wrongly attributed to Finance Minister Yassine Jaber, asserting that some media outlets have circulated incorrect information. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, reports that only $50 million was allocated are incorrect. The ministry explained that this figure pertains solely to the allocation from the state treasury to the Ministry of Social Affairs. In reality, the Ministry of Social Affairs has also received $200 million from the World Bank, alongside pound 45 million and pound 32 million from the European Union. Furthermore, the Ministry of Finance has provided substantial financial support to the healthcare sector via the Ministry of Public Health. Additional funds have been distributed through the Higher Relief Commission and the Council for the South to facilitate relief operations. Th e ministry highlighted that aid and support channeled through the United Nations and various humanitarian organizations have surpassed $130 million. The statement emphasized the importance of setting the public record straight, ensuring accurate reporting on the aid designated for those affected by Israeli attacks.
