Forum on role of AI technology in cybersecurity kicks off

A forum on the “Role of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Cybersecurity” kicked off earlier on Tuesday, organized by the Jordan Today Center for Development. The two-day forum tackles various aspects of artificial intelligence technology and its role in strengthening the cybersecurity system and the Jordanian experience in this field. About 40 experts in cybersecurity and artificial intelligence, representing many Jordanian institutions in various sectors, and a group of Jordanian banks, in addition to some Arab institutions, are participating in the forum. President of the National Cyber Security Center (NCSC) Bassam Maharmeh said that not using technology is no longer an option for neither individuals nor institutions, stressing that the center is committed to employing artificial intelligence technology to protect against threats. “Most services have become digitalized, leaving us exposed to electronic risks,” he noted, adding that cybercrimes have increased dramatically and are causing losses around the world, which requires inter-country cooperation to cut losses. For his part, Director General of the Jordan Today Center for Development Muhammad Faqir said that artificial intelligence in cybersecurity is a comprehensive group of disciplines, for example machine learning, the essence of which focuses on success in accuracy and speed of response and addressing malicious programs and challenges.
