GCC Secretary General condemns storming Qatari Embassy in Sudan

Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Jassem Al-Budaiwi on Saturday expressed his strong condemnation of the irregular armed forces’ storming and vandalizing the Qatari embassy in the Sudanese capital Khartoum.

In a statement, the GCC secretary general denounced all forms of violence and vandalism, especially those targeting headquarters of diplomatic missions and affiliate buildings in Sudan recently.

Al-Budaiwi reiterated the call upon parties of the conflict to act quickly for stopping military operations, exercise maximum restraint, abstain from escalation, respect international agreements and diplomatic norms that guarantee sanctity and safety of headquarters of diplomatic missions and their employees as well as to spare civilians effects of the conflict.

He called on all parties to respond positively to the Arab leaders during their summit in Jeddah for seeking a comprehensive political settlement that achieves security, stability, and prosperity for Sudan and its people.
