“Lebanese Forces” party leader, Samir Geagea, on Wednesday hailed in a statement the Gulf initiative.

“It’s provisions have restored consideration for the Lebanese cause, and addressed the Lebanese demands in a document which reflects their vision to emerge from the prevailing crisis and bring the nation back to its former era of prosperity and stability,” Geagea said.

“I am not surprised by this initiative, which reflects a firm and permanent concern by the Gulf for a Lebanon that’s capable of establishing a state that enjoys the ability to provide a decent life for its people within its Arab environment and within the framework of international legitimacy,” Geagea added.

Moreover, the LF chief stressed the importance of this initiative, provided that it is a Gulf, Arab, and international initiative, “which embodies the historical demands of the Lebanese to respect the Lebanese Constitution, the Taif Agreement, the Arab League decisions, and international resolutions while constituting a real opportunity to get Lebanon out of the hell in which it is plunged.”

“I insist on the need for official Lebanese accompaniment of the Gulf rescue initiative, with practical measures,” Geagea added.
