Beirut: Lebanese Forces leader, Samir Geagea, on Friday announced from the party's headquarters in Maarab the nomination of MP Setrida Tawk Geagea and former MP Joseph Ishak for the two Maronite seats in Bsharri district in the 2026 parliamentary elections, marking the official launch of the electoral battle in the district.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Geagea stated that the party's executive committee unanimously decided to renew their candidacies based on their performance and qualifications. Addressing the nominees, he emphasized that maintaining success is more challenging than achieving it, urging them to double their efforts to build on past accomplishments in Bsharri.
Geagea underscored the significance of the upcoming elections as a pivotal milestone in restoring the state and consolidating sovereignty, highlighting that Bsharri will remain at the forefront of defending the state project. The party also officially launched its electoral machine in the district, detailing a comprehensive organizational plan that encompasses resident and expatriate voters, field mobilization, and full logistical and media readiness ahead of voting day.
