GEAGEA CONGRATULATES FRENCH PRESIDENT MACRON ON RE-ELECTION

Lebanese Forces Party Chief, Samir Geagea congratulated French President Emmanuel Macron for his election victory over his far-right rival Marine Le Pen.

“The French people have expressed their opinion and renewed their confidence in you, by electing you as president for a second term. I congratulate you personally, and through you I congratulate the democratic path, which has become under threat in more than one region of this world, with the threat affecting the gates of all of Europe,” Geagea said in the etter.

Finally, Geagea thanked Macron for his commitment and efforts to preserve Lebanon and the Lebanese, saying: “I take this opportunity to appreciate your commitment to my homeland Lebanon and to the Lebanese people in these difficult circumstances we are going through, in addition to the structural problems represented by the dominance of Hezbollah on the one hand and the spread of corruption on the other hand, the Corona pandemic and the port explosion disaster have been added to them, therefore neither Lebanon nor the Lebanese are able on their own to face the economic, financial, monetary, social and even institutional repercussions.”
