In an issued statement today, “Lebanese Forces” Party Chief, Samir Geagea, expressed his “deep regret” over the fire incident that took place in St. Abu Sefein Church in the Egytian capital, Cairo, saying: “All the sorrow and sadness for the fall of a number of victims and the injury of a number of believers, whom we wish a speedy recovery…Our condolences to President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, the government and the Egyptian people for the victims who fell as a result of this painful accident. We also extend our condolences to His Holiness Pope Tawadros II, the Coptic Church and the families of the victims.”

Geagea considered that “despite the tragedy of the incident, Egypt has once again demonstrated the unity of its people, its non-discrimination between one citizen and another, and its standing together for the benefit of the country’s supreme interest,” adding that “this solidarity is an indication of the strength of Egypt as a state and a people,” wishing it “permanent stability and prosperity as a nation that supports the Arab countries, with Lebanon being at the forefront.”
