GEAGEA, PAPAL AMBASSADOR MEET

Lebanese Forces Party leader, Samir Geagea, met at the party’s headquarters in Maarab, the papal ambassador to Lebanon, Monsignor Paolo Borgia.

During the meeting, Geagea stressed “the need for everyone to commit to achieving the presidential entitlement, instead of disrupting it in order to impose a candidate wanted by the disabled party.”

He stressed that “the LF have the largest parliamentary bloc at the Christian and national levels, yet the LF leader did not run for presidency in order to facilitate negotiations, so he supported candidate Michel Moawad, who received the largest number of opposition votes.”

“What matters to the forces is a candidate with minimal presence, prestige, sovereign and reformist sense,” LF leader explained.

Finally, Geagea praised the historical relations with the Holy See, expressing his hope that “His Holiness the Pope will be able to mobilize the largest economic and humanitarian support for Lebanon, with its moral impact, especially among countries that are friendly and close to the Vatican.”
