GEAGEA SAYS IS ‘NATURAL CANDIDATE’ TO PRESIDENCY, URGES OPPOSITION TO UNIFY RANKS

Lebanese Forces’ leader Samir Geagea said that he was a “natural candidate” to the presidency of the republic “given the results of the latest parliamentary elections, that gave the party and the Strong Republic bloc the highest number of votes.”

“Everything will change if I am elected president of the republic,” Geagea told an interview with Euronews, but he said that his party hasn’t made that decision yet. “I prefer being a normal citizen under a strong and serious state to being the president of a nonexistent republic,” he added.

According to the LF chief, the opposition must unify its ranks to prevent the election of a president belonging to the rival March 8 camp.
