“Lebanese Forces” party leader, Samir Geagea, on Wednesday met at the party’s headquarters in Maarab with a Chinese delegation including Vice Minister of the International Department of the Chinese Communist party Central Committee, Qian Hongshan, who visited him with an accompanying delegation, in the presence of Chinese Ambassador to Lebanon, Qian Minjian.
The meeting discussed political developments in Lebanon and the region, as well as the best means to boost cooperation, friendship, and exchange of expertise between the two parties at various levels.
Geagea stressed that the Lebanese Forces were endeavoring to establish an active state in Lebanon, expressing belief that the only way to salvation is to “elect a rescue president who is capable of restoring the state’s prestige, advancing reforms, and fighting corruption.”
For his part, Head of the Chinese delegation affirmed to Geagea his country’s support for Lebanon’s sovereignty and people without discrimination, as well as the Chinese side’s readiness to provide what it can to help Lebanon.
The Chinese delegation also extended an official invitation to Geagea to visit China and presented him with a souvenir made of Chinese silk.
