Beirut: Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel emphasized that Hezbollah, as a member of Lebanon's government, must adhere to state decisions, highlighting that only Lebanon's legitimate institutions should make major national choices. Gemayel's comments followed a meeting with French presidential envoy Jean-Yves Le Drian at the Kataeb Party headquarters in Saifi.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, Gemayel noted France's key role in supporting Lebanon's state institutions and backing efforts aimed at restoring full sovereignty. He mentioned that Le Drian continues his diplomatic efforts to support Lebanon during a sensitive and decisive phase. Gemayel reiterated the Kataeb Party's support for the Lebanese State, President Joseph Aoun, and the government in ongoing negotiations. He underscored that past attempts to impose unilateral decisions had failed, stressing that national institutions alone have the legitimacy to decide Lebanon's major strategic choices.

Gemayel stated that Hezbollah faces a choice: continue aligning Lebanon with Iran's regional agenda or fully integrate into the Lebanese State and operate under its authority. He asserted that compliance with state decisions is not a concession but a commitment to the law, the Constitution, and equality among Lebanese.

He acknowledged the important role of national Shiite figures and political forces, praising recent calls from Tyre and Nabatiyeh for diplomatic solutions to end the war and reinforce state authority. Gemayel highlighted the responsibility of Parliament Speaker Nabih Berri and the Amal Movement in supporting state institutions and negotiations, as well as backing the Lebanese Army's efforts to extend state authority across Lebanese territory.

He concluded by stating that while the Lebanese State has shown openness and flexibility recently, the current situation requires greater firmness in enforcing its decisions and asserting its authority.
