General Haykal Meets ATFL Delegation, Confirms Ongoing Army Commitment to Framework Agreement

Beirut: Lebanon's Army Commander General Rodolph Haykal, on Tuesday, received at his Yarzeh office a delegation from the American Task Force on Lebanon (ATFL), led by its head, former Ambassador Edward Gabriel.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussion reportedly focused on the latest developments in Lebanon and the region. The meeting included an in-depth dialogue concerning the army's missions and the challenges it is encountering at the current stage.

Ambassador Gabriel acknowledged the "sacrifices made by military personnel" and emphasized "the importance of the army's role in maintaining security and stability in the country." His remarks underscored the critical position the army holds within Lebanon during these turbulent times.

General Haykal reiterated that "the Army continues to carry out all tasks related to the framework agreement within the available capabilities." He highlighted that while the army is devoted to its duties, it faces ongoing challenges as Israeli occupation forces persist in their attacks and violations of the understandings reached under the agreement.
