Beirut:Grand Mufti of the Lebanese Republic Sheikh Abdul Latif Daryan met with Bechara Asmar, Chairman of the National Social Security Fund (NSSF), and an accompanying delegation at Dar al-Fatwa.

According to National news agency - Lebanon, the delegation updated Daryan on the latest developments within the NSSF, following the establishment of its new board of directors. They discussed efforts to expand medical and hospitalization coverage, extend social security benefits to more Lebanese citizens, and restructure end-of-service compensation for employees who departed after 2019 and experienced a devaluation of their benefits.

Asmar communicated Daryan's complete support for the NSSF and its new board, noting the Grand Mufti's hope that the fund's benefits could return to their 2019 levels.

In a separate meeting, Daryan also received Mohammad Ali Kabbani, President of the Council for Development and Reconstruction (CDR). Kabbani provided an update on the council's ongoing activities, projects, and future development plans, with Daryan expressing his wishes for Kabbani's continued success in his duties.
