Beirut: Interior Minister, Ahmad Al-Hajjar, on Friday said all state agencies remain ready to respond to developments, calling on citizens to support the diplomatic efforts of Lebanon's leadership to overcome the current crisis. Speaking after a meeting of the Central Security Council, Hajjar said security agencies reviewed the measures in place and discussed ways to strengthen them on the ground to ensure a minimum level of security despite the ongoing war.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Hajjar said authorities are working to manage displacement while maintaining strict security procedures, noting that arrests and investigations are carried out whenever security breaches occur. Hajjar added that daily meetings are held with Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and ministers at the Grand Serail to follow up on developments.
The Minister also called on citizens to act responsibly to avoid internal tensions, noting that the government has opened the largest possible number of shelter centers in Beirut while continuing efforts to find additional accommodation for displaced families.
