Beirut: Minister of Public Health, Dr. Rakan Nassereddine, and Minister of Labor, Dr. Mohammad Haidar, convened a joint meeting at the Ministry of Health, which included Director General of the Civil Servants’ Cooperative Nazih Hammoud and representatives from civil and military insurance bodies, as well as the National Social Security Fund and medical divisions of the Lebanese Army, Internal Security Forces, General Security, and State Security.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the meeting aimed at enhancing coordination in hospitalization and pharmaceuticals to deliver efficient and quality medical services. Discussions also explored leveraging the joint experience from 2024, focusing on unified drug procurement, digitalization, and medical protocols, while ensuring the independence of each insurance entity.
Minister Nassereddine addressed concerns from various insurance bodies by stating his intent to collaborate with the Ministry of Finance to prioritize healthcare sector payments. He reiterated the ministry’s dedication to regular coordination meetings, hoping this phase would signify a positive change in the country and enhance public health services.
Minister Mohammad Haidar highlighted the beneficial collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the National Social Security Fund, emphasizing the fund’s role as an independent entity serving a large part of the Lebanese population, with a commitment to providing top-notch healthcare services.
