MINISTER OF HEALTH DISCUSSES WITH FRENCH AMBASSADOR MEANS TO ACTIVATE BILATERAL COOPERATION IN HEALTH SECTOR

NNA – Caretaker Minister of Public Health, Hamad Hassan, met this Tuesday with the French ambassador to Lebanon, Anne Grillot, with talks touching on ways to activate bilateral cooperation in the health fields, as it was agreed to hold a subsequent technical meeting to develop a detailed program for future cooperation projects, knowing that the French keenness in providing health support to Lebanon is evident through the projects implemented by the French Development Agency with the hospital sector, especially lastly by contributing to the restoration of the Karantina Governmental Hospital after it was damaged following the port explosion.

Minister Hassan noted “the importance of direct bilateral cooperation to implement projects that enhance the health security of the Lebanese,” and pointed to “the importance of providing support to the Ministry of Public Health in its endeavors to establish a central laboratory that will improve Lebanon’s ability to monitor the quality of imported medicines and those manufactured in the local market, next to benefiting from the French experience in renewing and speeding up the mechanism of registering medicines in Lebanon, especially generic ones.”
