“There are two countries that do not wish to see elections take place in Lebanon,” Wednesday Gathering MPs said on Wednesday as quoting Speaker of the House Nabih Berri.
“All the Lebanese are determined to hold elections on time, despite some opposition from outside the country,” Berri told Wednesday Gathering MPs.
“We have entered the stage of elections in every sense of the word, and any attempt aiming at amendment is way behind us,” Berri added.
The House Speaker also briefed MPs on the timetable set by the law to open nominations on February 5 and close them on March 7.
“Election campaigns begin as of February 5,” he said.
Wednesday Gathering lawmakers also said that the head of the civil service council had informed concerned officials that examinations would not be administered for as long as those who succeed in them were not being employed by the state.
