Hennis-Plasschaert Calls for Restraint After Strike in Beirut

Beirut: United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon, Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert, expressed concern over the recent strike on the southern suburbs of Beirut. She highlighted the panic and fear of renewed violence among residents who are eager for a return to normalcy. Hennis-Plasschaert urged all parties involved to refrain from actions that might jeopardize the existing cessation of hostilities understanding.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Hennis-Plasschaert emphasized the importance of maintaining peace and the implementation of Security Council Resolution 1701. Her call to action was made through her account on the “X” platform, where she addressed the urgent need for restraint from all sides to prevent further escalation.
