Beirut: Lebanese newspapers on Thursday highlighted the complexities surrounding the ongoing conflict and settlement efforts. Al-Joumhouria reported that while Hochstein is actively working to facilitate a settlement, Israeli actions are proving to be a significant hindrance. Hezbollah’s Qassem stated that any ceasefire proposed by Israel will only be considered if it aligns with their conditions.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Al-Akhbar conveyed a sense of optimism from Lebanese Prime Minister Mikati, who suggested that Hochstein’s efforts might bring the war to a close soon. Meanwhile, As-Sharq focused on the precarious nature of the situation, noting that the resolution largely depends on Hochstein’s mediation, even as Israeli forces launched attacks on Baalbek.
