IRAN SETS FIRST DAY OF HOLY MONTH OF RAMADAN

Member of the Initiation Committee in the office of the Iranian Revolutionary Guide, Hojjat al-Islam Ali Reza, stated that next Thursday will be the first day of the blessed month of Ramadan in Iran, as reported by “Russia Today” news agency.

Ali Reza explained that it will be possible to see the crescent with the naked eye on Wednesday during sunset.

Earlier, several Arab and Islamic countries announced the date for the sighting of the crescent of the month of Ramadan for the year 1444 AH, so that Thursday, March 23, will be the first day of the holy month, and its last day would be Thursday, April 20.

According to the observance of the month of Ramadan, the number of days for the holy month in 2023 will be only 29 days, and Muslims will celebrate Eid al-Fitr on Friday, April 21st.

It is expected that the number of fasting hours will be around 14 hours on the first day of Ramadan in most Arab countries.
