Beirut: Iranian Foreign Minister Dr. Abbas Araghchi arrived in Beirut on Tuesday morning from Cairo on an official visit during which he will meet with senior Lebanese officials. He was welcomed at Rafic Hariri International Airport by MP Ayoub Hmayed on behalf of Speaker Nabih Berri, MPs Ibrahim Mousawi and Amin Sherri, Iranian Ambassador Mojtaba Amani, and a wide delegation of Lebanese and Palestinian political figures.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, in a statement at the airport, Araghchi expressed joy at returning to Lebanon, extending greetings for Eid al-Adha and the recent anniversary of Resistance and Liberation Day. He said his visit is part of a broader regional tour, which included high-level meetings in Egypt, and now in Lebanon, where he will meet with the President, Speaker, Prime Minister, and Foreign Minister.
Araghchi emphasized Iran’s commitment to supporting Lebanon’s sovereignty and unity without interfering in its internal affairs, stressing the depth of historical ties built on mutual respect and shared interests.
MP Hmayed welcomed Araghchi, praising Iran’s longstanding support for Lebanon, particularly during times of conflict and reconstruction, and underlining the deep-rooted ties between the Lebanese, Palestinian, and Iranian peoples.
