Beirut: Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling earlier on Wednesday hit multiple areas in southern Lebanon and the Bekaa, leaving casualties and widespread damage.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, air raids targeted Wadi Zibqin in the Tyre district and Jmaijmeh in Bint Jbeil, while artillery struck Dbine. A strike on a residential building in Deir al-Zahrani resulted in the deaths of two people and left seven others injured, including a child.
Additional airstrikes were reported in Kfartebnit, Harouf, and a house located between Shoukin and Zibdine. In the western Bekaa, a raid on Sahmar claimed two lives. A previous attack in Ras al-Ain resulted in four fatalities and seven injuries.
The shelling and airstrikes extended to Khirbet Salem, Majdal Selm, Jdeidet Marjeyoun, and Ibl al-Saqi. A house in Qlayaa was also struck, leading to two deaths, including that of a child.
Israeli forces reportedly infiltrated the outskirts of Shebaa at dawn and detonated a house, though no injuries were reported from this incident. In the Bekaa, while a strike on Sahmar resulted in fatalities, other areas in the western Bekaa experienced shelling without reported casualties.
