Yaroun: Israeli enemy drones on Wednesday dropped leaflets over the southern Lebanese town of Yaroun, located in the Bint Jbeil district, containing direct threats against the town’s mukhtar. This action is seen as part of Israel’s ongoing campaign of intimidation against residents of border areas.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the leaflets specifically named former mukhtar Mohammad Abbas Shahin. The message accused Shahin of betraying the village and warned that he is under surveillance both by air and by ground. The note urged him to cease engagements with what was referred to as the “yellow association,” suggesting that doing so would be beneficial for both him and the town of Yaroun.
The incident has sparked concern among residents and officials, underscoring the psychological pressure tactics being employed by the Israeli military amid heightened tensions along the southern Lebanese border. The dropping of leaflets is perceived as an attempt to instill fear and enforce control over the border region, impacting the daily lives and sense of security of the residents in Yaroun.
